Active Listening Material

Hi,

Here are some websites with good active listening material:

http://www.newsinlevels.com/
http://www.elllo.org/

To review, here is the method for the active listening exercise:

1. Listen to the audio, stopping to write what you hear. About 45 – 60 seconds of audio should be enough. Leave spaces if you don’t understand a word.
2. Repeat step 1, filling in the spaces.
3. Compare the text with what you have written. Use a marker to highlight your mistakes.
4. Copy your mistakes and corrections to your pronunciation book. You can find the correct phonetics at http://dictionary.cambridge.org/. Remember to use the American phonetics – that’s the system we use.
5. Practice your pronunciation!
