This month, everyone’s going to give a short (5-10 minutes) presentation. The topic could be anything – your last vacation, something related to your job, how English Alive changed your life, etc. For next week, think of an idea – what can you talk about?
Here is some advice to give better presentations:
(0:27) What 3 things did Jim use in his PowerPoint presentations?
(0:47) What was the result?
(1:02) What is a better way to give presentations?
(1:15) What tools does the video recommend?
(1:26) What can help you tell your story?
(1:38) What should you remember when using PowerPoint?
(1:51) Give 3 examples of visual ways to tell a story.
(2:08) Where should the text go?
(2:17) What does this approach require?
Think of some great public speakers, like Steve Jobs or any TED Talk. How do they make their presentations interesting?
Now think of a topic. How can you present it as a story? Come in with some ideas and we will discuss them in class.
