Since September, we’ve been exploring fun, different ways to listen to English with a native accent. Now, it’s your turn to do some listening on your own (por tu cuenta). In class, you can share what you’ve learned.

Do you like cooking? Check out Jamie Oliver’s Channel (I think I’m going to make this next week)
Do you want to stay informed about the world? Check out the Voice of America News
Do you like hearing different perspectives on the world? Check out TED
Do you have strange questions? Look at vSauce
Do you want economics news? Look at NPR’s Planet Money
…or anything else you want to explore and share!

1) Find something that you think is interesting.
2) As always, listen before you read. Write down any new vocabulary you think is useful.
3) And most importantly, come to class ready to talk about what you heard. As much as I love to talk, now you can learn to generate conversation!

We’ll start again with weekly assignments in January. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
