Next week we're going to practice talking about photos, so I have 2 activities planned:

1. Listen to an Example

What do you see in the photo above?

Here's a fantastic radio piece about it from NPR. As always, listen before you read the transcript to help your ears! I have included some questions below to help you.

0:09 What words does the host use to describe the photo?
0:54 What questions does he use to intrigue you?
1:21 What does Mohammed collect?
1:47 How does he feel about the future?
2:11 How does the photographer describe the scene?

2. Describe a photo

Now it's your turn!

1. Find a photo you like. It can be funny, sad, exciting, or whatever you like. Bring it to class: you can email it to me, bring it on a USB drive, or Google it in class.
2. In class, you will give a short presentation about the photo. Use the same techniques we used last week. Ask your audience questions to include us. Give us an idea.
